NEW FORMAT FOR 2017
This year's brand new format smartphone-only competition took place from Saturday 30th September - Sunday 1st October 2017.
All entry images were taken in the 24 hour period from 1200 midday on Saturday to 1200 midday on Sunday.
Hundreds of Bristolians and visitors to the city, including entrants from Portugal, got smart' with their mobiles and took part in this fun, inclusive competition to capture 24 hours in the life of one of Britain's most vibrant and culturally diverse cities.
PORTRAIT OF LIFE IN BRISTOL
Now in it's 5th year, the annual '24 Hours in Bristol' competition generates an incredible 10,000 images in a single day - from portraits of Bristolians at work to historic and contemporary architecture, bustling markets, famous city sights, panoramics and landscapes.
What makes '24 Hours in Bristol' unique is that, when entrants register to enter the competition online, they are randomly allocated a specific hour of the 24 hour competition in which they must take at least one entry photo. You might be given a 4pm-5pm teatime slot, but alternatively it could be 4am-5am in the morning! This allocation of hours gives entrants a fun, added challenge and ensures 24 hour coverage of Bristol at work, rest and play.
