MIKE PORTER - Managing Director
Mike originally trained as a graphic designer at the Liverpool School of Art and then practiced as a fine artist for some time before becoming an award-winning creative director. Mike has worked on national campaigns in all media for some of the world's leading advertising agencies, with clients in all sectors including retail, property, automotive, travel and tourism.
Now based in the World Heritage city of Bath, Mike has spent the last twenty years developing art galleries and unique creative events, including the Bristol and Bath Art Prize.
Mike's unique ‘24 Hours in Our City’ photographic competition format has proved particularly popular and the 'One Smart Day in One Smart City' concept will soon be expanded to other cities around the world.
MEGAN WITTY - Event Director
Previously a producer/director at Bristol's BBC Natural History Unit and ITV in London, Megan spent nearly 20 years filming current affairs and wildlife and conservation projects around the world.
She now specialises in producing high-profile creative events, including city-wide sculpture trails and international charity events and has organised the ’24 Hours in Bristol’ photo competition since its inception in 2013.
Megan is a keen photographer and has had many photographs published. She likes nothing better than wandering around looking out for photo-opportunities and has written and photographed several publications, including a children’s wildlife book. She has filmed rare lemurs in Madagascar, swum with sharks in the Bahamas and had her canoe stolen by an orang utan in Borneo!
KEVIN LITTLE - Creative Director
Kevin has over twenty years experience working above and below the line in all media and has worked with many high profile London agencies for clients such as The Prudential, Wedgwood, Skytours, P&O Stena, Great Universal Stores, Mazda, Volvo, Tesco and Shell.
Kevin developed Tesco’s award-winning data-driven communications, including Tesco Clubcard, and specialises in retail CRM, Direct Mail, Integrated campaigns and global communications.
Kevin has worked all over the world and recently spent a year in the USA and New Delhi, India, developing new design teams for companies and supporting initial client engagement.
Kevin is a keen jazz fan and can often be spotted driving his beloved camper van and enjoying a pint of real ale at festivals around Europe.
DAVID COLLETT - Finance Director
David graduated from the University of Durham in 1962 and worked as economist and technical journalist in agriculture before becoming Financial Director of public relations consultancy. David was then Managing Director of one of the UK's first free newspapers, distributing 70,000 copies a week, before becoming Managing Director of a publicity company publishing papers for the house building industry.
David is now Financial Director of 'One Smart Day in Our City Ltd' and his analytical eye, budgeting expertise and dry sense of humour keeps the creative team's feet (nearly) firmly on the ground.
JOSH BRIGHT - Design & Event Manager
Josh studied art and design in London, where he worked for a number of student magazines. He then studied graphic design in Bath and has worked in the art and design industry for the last eight years,
Josh has managed art and photography galleries in Bristol and Bath, and creative projects including the Bath and Bristol Art Prize and the popular 24 hours in Bristol photographic competition. Josh’s main areas of expertise are website design and management, specialist printing, art sales, brochure design, direct mail and e-marketing.
Josh recently spent a year travelling around the world and was nearly trampled to death by an elephant in a military barracks in Zimbabwe. A keen rock climber and skier, he is particularly proud of his 57mph downhill ski record.
ELLIE MAJOR - UWE Intern
Ellie has just graduated from the University of the West of England with a BA Hons in Graphic Design. Ellie joins '24 Hours in Bristol' on the UWE Bristol Santander Summer Internship scheme and will be an integral part of the team over the next few months.
She has organised a charity summer fair for Tesco for the last two years, designing all the banners and flyers, liaising with local businesses and managing social media and event promotion. Her poster design entered into the Graphic Matters International Poster Competition has been selected for display in their exhibition this September.
Alongside her studies at UWE, Ellie was also a Woman’s Dart League Player from 2012-16 and in the Army Cadet Force, where she reached the rank of Lance Corporal. Atten-shun!
