Competition entrants Miguel Rocha and Sarah Vale, from Bristol's twinned city of Oporto, were invited onto the Ali Vowles Show on BBC Radio Bristol at 0745 on Saturday, the morning of the competition.
Miguel and Sarah had flown in from Oporto in the early hours of Friday morning and, after just a few hours sleep, were already out exploring the city at 0700. They took test photos all over Bristol for nearly 12 hours, walking and cycling around the city on their first ever Bristol photo-safari in preparation for the 24 hour photo-safari the following day.
Presenter Ali Vowles asked what their first impressions of the city were and Miguel said he thought Bristol was very organised and tidy! Sarah said there were a number of similarities with Oporto, such as the coloured houses, dramatic bridge and friendly people.
The Bristol Oporto Association and Associação Porto Bristol had held a mini photo competition in Porto to find a couple of keen amateur photographers who would benefit from travelling to Bristol to take part in the competition. Miguel and Sarah were chosen and the Associations kindly financed their whirlwind weekend visit.
We are very grateful to the Bristol Oporto Association for arranging their visit and are so looking forward to seeing their photos!
